“Kids Kingdom” Sunday School is the heart of Children’s Ministries at Yorba Linda United Methodist Church. We are all a part of God’s Kingdom and the kids experience their part in His Kingdom in amazing ways as they learn about Jesus with age appropriate lessons each Sunday morning. Our “Kids Kingdom” Sunday School is for all kids age 3 through grade 6. Children start their morning with their families in the church service at 10 am. After an exciting and interactive Children’s Message with Pastor Greg and his friends, Freddie & Frankie the frogs during the service, they go to Room 8 (aka The Green Castle).
In Room 8 we begin with all the children together, singing and teaching Bible-based curriculum enhanced with engaging videos. Different areas of emphasis are added to the Bible instruction each season as well, including mission project giving and fundamental Bible practices such as learning the books of the Bible and Bible verse memorization. Additionally, the music the children are learning is occasionally performed in Sunday Service for everyone to enjoy.
Following large group time in room 8, the children are dismissed to their nearby “Castle” classrooms based on age and grade. All are staffed with caring and trained volunteers that have been background-checked. This small group time engages the children with games, crafts, Bible stories and fun! The goal of this smaller group time is to reinforce the principles of the larger group Bible lesson in age-appropriate ways while giving the kids a chance to make friends with kids their own age.
After church you will pick up your children at their “Castle” classrooms and everyone is invited to come together for fellowship time in the Fireside Room next to the sanctuary.

Surrounded by water, trees, and rolling hills, Camp Firelight is the perfect location for every Camper's favorite summer activities! During each assembly session, Campers join first-time camp counselor Sam and Lu (short for Lumen), the lightning bug puppet, and learn to face their fears while trusting in God. Each day, Campers see Counselor Sam face new challenges, from as simple as leading Campers on a hike to as intimidating as meeting a new and wise nature expert. With the help of Lu the Lightning Bug and the Camp Counselor Guidebook, Counselor Sam and our Campers explore timeless Bible stories that show how Old and New Testament characters trusted God in the face of their own fears and went on to do great things in God's name. Through these stories, this program will teach us about people in the Bible who experienced the gift of a trusting relationship with God. In addition, it will teach us to trust that God will go with us, lead the way, share wisdom, give us peace, and spark joy as we celebrate the good news of Jesus in our own lives and in the lives of others.
